Loaves, Letters, & a Very Imperfect Beginning
Well… here we go.
If you’re reading this, it means I finally hit “publish” on something I’ve been circling for a long time — this little corner of the internet where faith, real life, and whatever I’m fumbling through all meet.
To those of you who’ve been here from the dusty-email-list days — thank you. Truly. And to those who just wandered in — I’m so glad you’re here. Consider this your cozy-seat-at-the-table welcome.
The truth is: I’ve wanted a place to connect outside of the hamster wheel that is social media for a long time,, but everything felt complicated. Workflows, templates, formatting, domain authentication (still don’t know what that is). I kept waiting until I “figured it out,” and shocker… that’s never happened..
But there’s a conviction on my soul summarized in 5 words from Isaiah 6:8.
“Here I am, send me.”
Not when I feel confident. Not when everything is polished. Just… here I am.
That tiny prayer has carried me into places I never expected — including the moment I opened Canva to design a simple little bookmark with a few tips for morning Bible time. Instead of a quiet, small project, that bookmark has turned into a 30-day devotional draft currently sitting on my laptop.
A devotional I didn’t plan to write.
A devotional I have hovered over the trash more than once.
A devotional that both terrifies and excites me.
But every time I tried to talk myself out of it, that same prayer bubbled up again:
Here I am, send me — even if I don’t feel ready.
So why Loaves Letters? Because this whole deal—the devotional, the email newsletter, this blog space, even hitting “publish” today—feels like my little basket of loaves and fish. It’s not perfect or polished. But I’m offering it up anyway—trusting that God can multiple it however He wants.
A couple of months ago, a book agent told me I’d need 4,000 email subscribers before she could consider representing the devotional. And shoooot — 4,000 feels like a lot. A lot a lot. But if I’ve learned anything in this season, it’s that obedience isn’t about numbers, it’s about offering what’s in front of me. If Jesus can feed 5000 with a few loaves and fish, then 4000 email subscribers is doable right?!
Right, but I’m not even pretending to play it cool. I definitely need help hitting that goal. Every single name matters. If you’re willing, forward this hyperlink to a friend or print off this sheet and pass it around to your coworkers, small group, or whoever you chat with at school pickup. Or share my pinned post on your socials, your hair stylist, your Amazon delivery guy. Let’s see what God does with our loaves and letters.
